Information for businesses, workers and their families impacted by the closure of the Blast Furnace at the Whyalla Steelworks

The Australian and South Australian Governments are working together to support local workers, businesses and the Whyalla community to ensure a range of support initiatives are in place to help those impacted through the blast furnace closure.

For workers and their families, support includes access to a dedicated Worker Transition Centre, career and employment assistance, training and retraining opportunities, wellbeing services, financial counselling, and information about pathways into new jobs and industries.

For local businesses and supply chain partners, assistance is available to help you manage the impacts of the closure, access support services, receive financial counselling and identify new opportunities.

Our immediate priority is ensuring people have access to the practical support, advice and services they need.
